A fellow wants to work a trade with me with his Smith 586 blued 357 mag. Not sure yet of the barrel length yet. Anyone with a heads up on what one might be worth ?.

according to grade ,450 for a "truck gun" to 700 for NIB. just my general pricing for 4" 357 magnum revolvers.

Thanks for the info guys. I was'nt even aware gunsamerica was still around.... probably a decade since I was there last !. I'm no fan of colt wheelguns...smith's have always been better fit & finish and more ergonomic from my POV.

These are now being produced again as "classics" i believe. I would prefer the older one with the hammer nose instead of the frame mounted firimg pin. Saw some new ones in the case today for 750 plus tax.

I've had a 586 for several years since they were introduced. I have put everything thru the beast and it is my favorite pistol.
It can hanlde 38 sp with WC thru some heavy J word WW296 loads but my favorite is Lyman 170 358429 over 2400.
Mine has a 6" barrel and Pachmyer grips.
