im looking for a book or books that will educate me in the fine art of revolver tuning and timing ... especially the colt and Remington cap n ball revolvers. ive been lucky enough to figure out how to slick em up a bit for a better action and trigger let off but I need to know the timing issues and how to's now.

thanks

Ted

Jerry Kuhnhausen's book on gunsmithing the Colt Single Actions has a lot of knowledge that can be transferred to cap and ball revolvers, and a few asides on those revolvers also. (In point of fact, the timing of the C&B Colts is less complicated than that of the SAA, because they have one less hand notch.) Also look on Line for articles by a guy named Larsen J. Pettifogger, who has a couple of very well-written and illustrated multipart series on tuning up and fixing Italian replica C&B revolvers.

What he said... I have learned a lot from Jerry Kuhnhausen. Every one of his books is worth owning.
