Doe Run, The only US located lead mining/smelting operation has reached "agreement" with the EPA and will close this year. We will again be totally dependent on foreign, read 3rd world, countries for a critical element for modern life. I expect to see lead prices in this country, USA, Increase dramatically. Expect your batteries to cost much more, like 1C for a mower or MC battery and auto and PU batteries that are $85 to $150 now will be way more. Ammo will also be more $. Bullets more, shotshells more, bags of shot more.... I'm going to put more time and effort into my scrounging and hoard building. Then I'll have plenty for me and plenty to sell, some people will thank me.

If I'm wrong about Doe Run and the lead pricing please correct but don't flame me for being kinda jumpy in the current atmosphere. Remember there are only 2 kinds of ammo and components, enough and not enough. Things get real bad real quick when it's not enough!

+1 Cosmiceyes. I live in an area of NYS that has multiple reserviors. When the water is let down and the stone walls are exposed, I hike around and pick up every sinker i can find. Double reward....Lead and exercise!
