I was cleaning up and rearranging my over crowded reloading room and came across some old military powders I had bought 20 years ago to shoot. Some in a 50-BMG and a 44 MAG handgun. This was all before I became dedicated to shooting boolits in everything. I shoot the normal selection of antique military rifles and handguns now like Argentine Mauser, 8mm Mauser, 7.5 Swiss, 7.5 French, 30-06, 30-40 Krag, 7mm Mauser, 303 British and etc. So, my question is has anybody used T680, T5070 or RVO-57 powders with lead boolits in any of these rounds with success and can give me some pointers for their use? Seems to me the T680 came from the 30 carbine but I don't care to shoot the semi-autos much anymore? :veryconfu

T680 was originally for the 7.62 X 39. WC820 was the 30 carbine powder.
The 680 will work in all of your military guns for somewhat reduced loads. It is slower than AA5744, IMR SR4759, and simillar powders. Excellent in the 300 Whisper and Blackout.
I used it in my 44mag with a 310gr Lee boolit. not fast but accurate. A place to start is with some Accurate 1680 load data. It will be close but you have to work it up on your own.
The T5070 is what is commonly called a 50bmg powder IIRC. Very slow but does work in military guns like your, more recoil than T680.

I may have some load data sheets for these 2 as I used to buy them from Thunderbird Cartridge Company here in Az. I'll look when I get a chance.
The other one I have no idea.

Look for River Valley Ordnance 57 on the web. I still have some RVO 62, but have now idea what they used for nomenclature on their powders.

Well, apparently things have changed in the software and I can not figure out how to add pictures to a post. If you want the info PM me with an e-mail address and I will send it to you.
