I have no interest in powder coating or any coating of cast bullets as I'm still working with (successfully) standard and tumble lubes. Coating bullets has seemed to dominate the Lube section for a quite a while now and perhaps a section for coating bullets is called for. Whadda ya think mods?

Yep, just ignore them until you need them. They are in the right place.

We already have too many subsections. No more required.

Personally I keep waiting to see a thread titled 2800FPS with a painted boolit.....still waiting with baited breath.

There will be some reports from users in the US very shortly. I gave up shooting lead in rifles years ago. didn't have time to cast rifle stuff. to busy casting for pistols.

Seriously? Do I detect some sarcasm?

Thank you for your candid opinions/responses, but yes I can read and being able to read I skip over the "coating" threads. For you fellers so quick to judge, and expect complaints rather than constructive suggestions, I figgered those that were interested in coating would be better served by a sub-section devoted to their interests only. Personally, I figger we got way too many sub-sections right now, hell, only one is needed so everyone can sift through all the casting, lube, swaging, powder, lead, and equipment threads to find the ones they have interest in. Only need "Casting" with a sub-section of "Other".

I've got no chronograph but I've shot a 100g plain base over 35g of Varget in a 30/30 contender with zero fouling. That oughta be pretty close.

NO SARCASM.......If I am missing out on something I wanna know about it. Most "boolit painters" seem geared towards pistols.......I was merely wanting MORE info. A write up about full velocity with painted boolits in rifles would quite tickle me.

To the Englishman and the Aussie.....color me clueless as to what you said....hard to believe we all speak the same language..........

357 Maximum, I have shot my 30-06 to 2,550 fps so far with the Hi-Tek coating. Tomorrow I'm loading the 30-06 with different boolits and also some 22 cal boolits in my Contender. I have shot wax based lubed boolits in my 22 K-Hornet at 3,000 fps already so I think 2,800 fps is doable. Hope to go to the range Thursday.

Northwest American Red-neck, Scandinavian. The Dutch in me says that coating vs lube separation wouldn't be bad, but the Red-neck says the heck with it, let it be. I use both for the time being.

How does tha accuracy compare with a good balanced wax/greaser boolit load??? You are doing what I seek info on...thank you

I'm part hun, part vicking and part anglo-saxon. My partner is a direct descendant of Ester Cook - Captain Cook's sister. I find that quite fun. She has other fun lineage to. But I digress.

I cast my vote to a new sub section. I guess it's a toss-up between sifting through 'unrelated' threads and sifting through extra sub sections. To me the extra sub section would be easier. We have basically two conversations going on in the one sub section. When I want to know about powder coating or related then I'd look for it under a coated boolit sub section. Right now it gets kinda dispersed and hard to sort through either way. But then again, maybe there aren't enough discussions going on with powder coating to warrant separating them. Just my thoughts.

OK, maybe not. After thinking on it I'm happy with things as they are. It was a good idea though and worth consideration, I think.
