Yesterday at 0230 hours my son returned home from his latest deployment, Africa and the Mideast this time. I now have my hunting and shooting buddy back and he is supposed to be off during deer gun season. We are headed to the range first of the week, I stuff the magazines and he unloads them, fine by me.

No better feeling than to see that big bird settle in, I know.

Congratulations, shake his hand for me and tell him thanks.

My son leaves soon for a similar kind of thing. During 24 years in the Army, I put myself out there a few times, but it's real different when it's your kid doing it. I fully expect to have a lot more gray hairs before it's done.

let him know there are those that are very proud of him and his service

Thank him for his service for me as well. I have one leaving for buttcrackistan next month, USMC, volunteered. Enjoy the shooting time with him, I plan to go at least one more time with mine to the range before he leaves.

Thanks all and I will relay your thanks to him. It was his 3rd deployment and he has already volunteered to go on a fourth. Nothing set in stone on this latest trip and I ain't going to be the one to say nuthin' to his mom about it. Women sure can get attached to their young ones.
