I have a whole split cowhide and am wanting to make a case for my 1874 Sharps. This will be hand-sewn and I want it to look nice, not just protect the gun during transport. Has anyone made one that they really like and would like to share ideas. What improvements would you have made on the next one, etc.
Looking to make one with a "fold over" flap that has a thong to tie off. I will probably stitch in extra support in the tang sight, hammer, and front sight areas.
Photos? Patterns? Tips?
