I have heard that the cases of the 500 S&W "may" be too thick just to trim them down. Hope someone can verify this because I have the same question. RCBS can make a trim die for about $165

You can make it out of 500 S&W brass. I use an RCBS power trimmer to do mine. I just get it started then give it a shot of WD40 and it cuts good. Takes awhile but works. I'm thinking about getting a Harbour Frieght mini chop saw to try on the rest of mine. Just cut a little long with the chop saw then finish with the trimmer.

.500JRH IS .500S&W, just cut shorter. It will work fine. Just pick a trimmer, maybe an electric one, and go to town.

I once trimmed 44mag cases to 44spl using a small tubing cutter and finishing with a Forster trimmer. A little tedious but better than all trimmer.

I used my rcbs power trimmer to make about 599 454s out of 460s and it took a while

Only .23" difference. Work on a trimmer will do it.
Everyone is out of brass, even Jack. Nothing but nothing can be found today. I have stuff on back order for 3 months so far.
Obuma ruined us and the demand is high but companies do not want to expand or hire in the face of Obuma care.

Jack Hunington told me he is working with Hornady to see about getting the brass manufactured. That looks like the best bet at this time.Meanwhile, I will continue to use reduced loads of 2400 in the 500 S&W cases.
