Finally got around to my annealed cases. I have a stash of loaded ammo and newly reloaded goes to the bottom, shoot from the top (rotate my stock, as it were)

Found the 45 Colt nickel cases in the Ruger Vaquero (OM) were expanded and the pistols were cleaner than before. Also much easier to resize. Best of all no split cases.

In the rifle I had something strange--where before the brass cases were expanded from Marlin's generous chamber now there was no sign of this. Curiouser and curiouser... Again cases were easier to resize and no split cases.

I usually run 5% splits so that's something. Brass is used in CAS and keeps getting rotated through until lost at the matches or splits.

Pretty pleased with these results

Yep an annealing regime is an integral part of my case prep not just for case life but to help with more consistent handloads.
