Hey there:

Anyone make a boolit mold for a .678 ? I am not sure, seems like we need one of that size.

Thanks and all the best,

casper

Not a popular enough mold to stock with the big reloading supply houses, I guess, but Track of the Wolf has them for $69:

Lyman and RCBS make them. In fact RCBS was making a two cavity that I wish I had bought but I do not see them listed anymore, just single cavity.

You can also get 0.680" scissor moulds at TOW or Dixie. I don't know how well they cast though, some seem to like them but I have also read about offset cavities and out of round balls. Not a real big issue for smoothbore but would be for rifled gun I think.

So far my 0.678" fits best in several wads I have and it shoots well.

Jeff Tanner in England makes custom molds. Google his name. They sell for about 50 bucks and take Lee 6 cavity bullet handles.

I have a Lyman .678" that casts well and shoots great, well, it does now thanks to all the hints Longbow and a few others here have left in their many posts. :drinks: Speaking of which, may want to read some of them.
