Hey all, Another question. I have some 170gr cb with gas checks. The driving bands on each boolit measures .3125 The gas check measures .3135 Where as the check goes in the neck first will this slightly bigger check stretch the neck as to not give good tention.

The brass should have enough spring back to take care of the 0.001" difference between the gas check and the major diameter of the boolit.

If it's a thin necked case like 30-30 it probably will stretch out the neck.
If you've not already seated all the checks you could try annealing them to make them as soft as possible.
Have to try seating one to see what happens.

No experience with the 7.62x54mm.
I referenced the 30-30 because I had some new Rem brass sized out by the gas check. .3100 size die and a .3092” boolit body. Had to run boolits back through a .309” size die so they’d get a grip. 30-30”s neck thickness is probably thinner than the gas check. So it’s bound to loose the fight.

Most rifle brass does not have a problem with less tension. You can expand more if needed. The revolver is where you need it most. There is nothing in front of a revolver boolit until rifling is reached.
All you need for a lever gun is to hold boolits in the magazine.
