Please share your experience using Accurate Arms #5 powder for cast bullet loads in the 30-06. I've had good results with Unique, shooting bullets in the 130-150 grain range, but have no data for #5.
My friend Bryan and I have tried AA # 5 with 8 different cast bullet designs in the 30-06 and 308 Win.
No luck at all ! !
It has been one of the poorest performers of the 10 or so propellants that we have used.

I too have tried it in rifles with the same results. It is just not suitable for this application as far as I can tell. AA#2, on the other hand, is a superb performing powder for light rifle loads. It is also easy to find a good load for it. Fill the case to the base of the bullet to see how much it holds, and 20% of that is your starting load. 30% of that is your do not exceed maximum load. Something in between will be very accurate.
