Folks,

Just thought I'd give you all a "heads up". Lee is closing out about 20 different "uncataloged" custom crimp dies. Lots of unusual calibers [for me, at least]

Personally, I jumped on the .357 Magnum crimp die, for $25 + S/H. It will greatly help me with cast bullets for my Marlin.

They're not closing them out...they're overruns and they've been offered on the site for a long time.

Tks for reminding me I needed to get one for .44 magnum. Hard to find these on the Lee site unless you know the SKU number and search with that. SKU: 80335 is the .44 magnum collet crimp die. SKU: 80337 is the .45 Colt collet crimp die.

I modified my .45 Colt die to narrow the crimp band and drop it down on the case mouth: http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?201449-Question-about-type-of-crimp-required&p=2239315&viewfull=1#post2239315

No worries HV. It's always good when someone gives a heads up. Thanks for posting it.

My B-I-L had one years ago. It loaded ok but was kind of shaky. Used Mecs are a much better value and I see them frequently 35-50 bucks for good used 600 jr's. My brother in law upgraded to a Mec after about a year of using the Lee.

You need to make sure the used mec is complete. I bought a "bargain" at a yard sale for $25 and ended up spending about $75 on parts to get it working. I guess its still worth it.

Good point for anyone considering purchasing a used one. Even the plastic bottles have gotten pricey.
