i was given some H335 recently and thought i'd try it
in my Win 94 .32 spl..The only bullet i shoot through it is
rcbs 32-170-gc cast.Actual weight is 184 gr. and around
16 bhn.Load data using this bullet and powder is not to be
found.Ideally,i'd like to keep velocity at 1800 fps or so.
Anyone have a load reference for these componets or
use this powder for their cast loads? THANKS....Vic

Hodgdon's web site lists H335 with a 170 gr jacketed bullet, but no lead data.
They list a starting load of 30.0 grs @ 2,021 fps and a pressure of 29.7k cup. There max load is 32.0 grs @ 2,144 fps giving 36.2k cup. Again, this is for a 170 gr jacketed bullet. Your heavier bullet would have to use a lighter charge than this. Maybe somebody with the right software can run the #'s for you.

Look at castpics load data with 844.

Also, you can use 30-30 cast data. Pressure and velocity will be lower, charge for charge, as there is a greater surface area with the .32.

9432,
In my 30-30 T/C Contender 14”, I am using 27-30 grains of WC-844 (H-335 burn rate) for velocities of 1607-1686 fps. This is with a 311041 slug at 170 grains+. I know you ask about the 32 Special, but this might give you an idea about the H-335 burn rate in your 32 Special. I actually found WC-852 (4831 burn rate) to be better and more accurate in both the 14” and a Model 94. I am getting right at 1800 fps with a charge of 35 grains of WC-852 in the Model ’94. That would be more along your line of thinking. Good-luck…BCB

H335 is my favorite powder for the .32 Special with the RCBS 170 cast bullet. I like 27.0 grains of H335 with this bullet, for right at 2000 fps.

When I got my minty 1959 vintage Winny 94 a few years back, somebody on this board (or it's predecessors) recommened the RCBS bullet and 30/H335 as a top end load.

I tried this load with the bullets cast from #2 and sized .323 and the results were outstanding. The rifles gives consistant 2 MOA groups. This is fine accuracy for a Winny 94 Carbine and a peep sight.

I would SWAG the velocity at over 2.1 K fps and the rifle has plenty of thump on both ends. The 1-16 twist barrel is just the huckleberry for fast steping loads.

This is the one and only load I have used in the rifle. I have plenty of other rifles to load down to more pedestrian velocities. I want one rifle, that I can "grab and go" and have it loaded up to full performance. I keep about 60 rounds loaded at all times for this rifle.

I bought the rifle from Griffin and Howe and it came with a recoil pad and an all steel Lyman 66 receiver sight. The rifle was aboaut 99.5% new with a action that had not been yet fully broken in. I paid $350.00 for the rifle which was a little high. But today it would be a bargin.

As a bonus, I still get the Griffin and Howe magazine and invites to al of the fancy doings up there in Yankeeland. What a hoot! Some day, I will put on my best boots and jeans and head up there to give those swells a dose of Texas culture.
