There is also a Group Buy Discussion ongoing to recreate the original Harris design at JT molds.

Accurate has a copy also, the dimensions of the Accurate mold tend to favor the standard .30 barrels, where as the JT design Revision 4 now under discussion will have .312 bands and a nose tapering from .309 at the crimp groove to .303 at the point where the bore-riding nose intersects with the ogival curve, with .125" meplat, a bit less sharp than the Lee.

It's good to have options.

You have my attention. When I get back home, I will have to see if my DPMS Sportical in 7.62X39 is stamped with an actual bore diameter. It seems to like the American Eagle brass cased ammo, and those j-word bullets caliper at .308"

thanks for posting that, and the pics. just a .3085"? but...but...but...everybody has always told me most AK's actually have .311" bores. I am confused.

Nahh...not really. not to monopolize this thread, sorry, but a guy on another forum a couple of years ago was reloading the steel cased ammo for his AK and using his bullets which I think were cast with a Lee tumble lube mould. he was stamping out his own gas checks from beer cans, IIRC.

so, what would you guys recommend for a gas check making tool?

Not to misdirect the thread but is there much variation in bores in various 7.62 x 39 rifles, AK vs SKS?
