View Full Version : Ohaus .45 255 grain SWC # 10424
Stuffit has posted on several occasions about his Ohaus .45 255 grain bullet #10424 and emphasized its very long nose.
I am searching for this same mould, or at least more information (history) about it! Does anyone have this mould? Does anyone have an old Ohaus catalog? It is distinctly different from any now offered by RCBS !
I am including some of stuffit's original photos.
I would appreciate hearing from you especially if you have any leads to find one for sale.
Thanks.
Jerry

I just checked e-bay, nothing there. If you could get a sample from Stuffit maybe Dan at Mountain Molds could make one for you. If I knew the nose length I would try to put it in his design your own program on his website. Several years ago I did some measuring on my .45 Auto Rim revolver and found there was .750" of room for bullet nose in that gun. Did Stuffit say how they shot ?
Edit: I just tried the Mountain Mold "on line design" program and it will not allow a long nose. I guess one would have to talk to Dan and see if he can do it.

Thanks for the input !
I have also tried Dan's design program and as soon as you get a long nose it wants to increase the weight. I got close but not a real good match.
Stuffit indicates this bullet works very well in Auto Rim.

Jerry,
Due to the interest in an Auto Rim boolit recently, I'm dragging up this old thread to ask if you ever found one of these? Also, I tried to search for post by a user name "Stuffit" and found nothing. It is an invalid user name. Can you offer any more information?
This bullet was discussed here earlier in this thread

You might want to try contacting user "chunkum"

Stuffit (Chunkum) allowed me to join him in a special run of this mould at NEI. Here is a bullet from my own mould. He redesigned the original lube groove which in my opinion is an improvement.
It cost me more than $13.50 though !:) :)

What a surprise! Does NEI own the cherry, or is that Chunkum's?
