A friend want me to build a 1911 for him. He had a Rock Island frame and a bag full of old parts. After two months and a lot filing and replacing the barrel and hammer and trigger. I got the thing done last night. I Cerakote the pistol in brunt bronze and left the trigger black and safety and slide stop black. Here are some pics. 7542475423

Nice!
Back in Nov. 2012, a friend and I bought 5 RIA frame, barrel and slide kits. I'm finishing up the 4th one this weekend.
Tell us how it shoots.

I took the pistol out today and ran 30 or so rounds through it. I polished the feed ramp it feeds all type of ammo HP SWC and lead round nose. The only thing is I need to install a new ejector. The extractor is pulling the case but the ejector is not stripping every round. I had 2 FTF rounds out of the 30. It shot a 2 to 3 inch group at 15yds.

Nice work I really like 1911 and home brewed work is always appealing if done right.
