Scored a rifled barrel for a new to me pump 12 Ga. yesterday. Should I keep the short rifle sighted smooth bore barrel that came with it or sell and put the $ toward a longer, shot friendly barrel? I don't shoot a lot of shot loads, but am planning to cast and load some #O and #F buckshot loads.

If you are just planning on mostly buckshot I would keep the rifle sighted smooth bore. My only questions are...What type of SG and where are the pics?

Actually, there are two. A Remington 870 which I have equipped with a cheap black stock and a Winchester 120, neither of which I considered photogenic in any way.

Give it time. Topics wander far and wide here.

No offense taken. Can I gather that the consensus is, brand apart, smooth is smooth and rifled is rifled?
I have the Lee 1 oz slug mold, a brass mold that casts about a .720+-round ball and a .690 rb mold on order.

Yeah, I've got my eye on a variable choke barrel now.
Hey, you wouldn't by any chance subscribe to the theory; He who dies with the most barrels wins, would you?
