Are 22 WMR or 17 HMR brass used for anything?
I have been picking up brass at a local range for several months and will be selling and/or trading the stuff that I will not be reloading. Obviously, while sweeping up the reloadable brass I also picked up a lot of rimfire. I know about 22LR => 223 (which I would love to get a die set some day for), but I haven't come across anything that called out either the 22 WMR or 17 HMR brass. I would imagine that the 22WMR could be cut down and used for 223, but I'm not sure that it would be worth it to someone.
When I first started collecting the rimfire I had my kids remove everything except the 22LR and place it in their own containers. That became very tedious and after my wife inadvertently mixed the separated 22LR with the rimfire that hadn't been separated, I stopped that practice. That did leave me with at least a gallon Ziploc bag full of each (22 WMR & 17 HMR).
Are they worth anything in the swaging world, or should I just scrap them next time I'm at the junk yard?
Thanks.
Dave
