Looking for some feedback-
I have just ordered the Lee 358-158-FP for use in .38spl/357mag revolver.
Does anyone here use this particular bullet. I'm wondering how it'll perform if cast from wheelweights and used at moderate velocities

I love it! I shoot it at 1250 fps out of my 357 mag lever gun and get great accuracy with it!

I use just WW's, no water quenching, just air cool, size/lube load and shoot! 8gr of bluedot does good for me.

shoots well out my 38s but doesnt really do that well under 800 fps. Kind of needs a little boot in the but to do its best work.

This is my current go to bullet in 357 Mag loads of medium to higher velocity. Shoots great in my 686 and Ruger 357's. Cast from wheel weights +1% tin, no leading in the guns.

Sounds promising, I can't wait to get it and get started.
I usually just cast with wheelweights, but I was running a 125g conical fp from a 9mm (.356) RCBS mold in my 357's for a while. The alloy was a fair bit harder and i didn't bother sizing just lubed with LLA. I used 8lb ww - 2lb Linotype and a half stick of 50/50 tin/lead solder.

Well I got it and so far I'm happy. I began casting whith straight WW and had trouble filling the cavities, added a little 50/50 solder (tin/lead) but still found that the mix had to be held to a higher temp than I'm used to. Once I got a rythm going I knocked out a cpl hundred good bullets, quenching in water as I went. They perform well at 25 yds from my 4" S&W m65, easily holding 2" nice clusters. Perhaps someone younger might put them closer together but 2" groups keep me happy fer now. Will try some in Marlin & Rossi leverguns this weekend.
