Cast bullet accuracy in Springfield 1903A3

75299Here is a five shot group fired from the bench in my Remington made Springfield 1903A3 with issue sights.
The cast bullets came from a Group Buy off this website.
The Lee six cavity mold works great.

If those are 1" squares, I make that group to be a hair over 2 X 2 inches. Not bad, but the rifle will do better with some work and attention to detail. My 4 groove Remington and Smith Corona will do 1.5 to 1.75 for ten shot groups at 100 yards. Both with peep sights, one issue (Remington) and the other a Lyman 48 (Smith Corona).

I got 71 year old eyes but still use the issue sights.
