They look cool but never seen one run right.

I tried. Never found one that would remove and insert easily, and they destroy the lines and handiness of the little gun.

The Chinese used to make a 20-round fixed mag that wasn't bad, but it was fixed like the original ten-rounder.

If I'm out plinking and playing with an SKS, I use the stripper clips for fast reload, just as the designers intended. With very little practice, you can master this skill. That makes the gun run as it was intended.

Everyone hates 30rd SKS mags i have one that was given to years ago works great when i was younger i used to bump fire with it all time. I guess i am just lucky. The cover scope mount did not work so well.

I've got a 20 or 30 that works well. Doesn't go in and out good, but, an SKS mag is much like an SMLE mag in that the intent of removable really means easily replaceable. I put it in, then leave and fill with stripper clips.

It seems the only ones people praise (rather than curse) are the ones made by Tapco. They recommend opening up the area around the magazine in the original stock.

They supposedly work well out of the box in conjunction with the plastic stocks Tapco makes for the SKS.

Legally, with many states having a 10 round mag limit, you should have no problem traveling anywhere with the stock magazine. Not sure about the CA nuances though.

I have 2 polymer 30 round SKS mags, they work fine.

Polymer ones are the best, due to **** machining and standards of the SKS, the poly ones "wear in" to your gun pretty well.
