Hi all,

I currently load j-words only for the .380- I have 2; one is a SIG P238, the other is a Remington 51. I'll probably stick to J-words in the Remington as the bore is pretty roached, but in the SIG I'm thinking of going with cast. I know Ranch Dog did a great .380 mold in the past; but with none currently running, what other molds have you had luck with?

Also: Usually I run 3.0 gr of Bullseye and a 95 gr FMJ for plinking. What loads are you using with the slightly heavier designs?

I use a NOE mold. It like to run hot or the bullets will wrinkle. You know you have it up to temp when the sprew brakes easy.

I load for a Taurus TCP and use a Lee 356-102-1R. They come out of the mold at 357 and I just shoot them as they are. I use 2.5gr of AA2. They are very accurate and feed great.

I do the same with 2.9gr of WST

A fun ctg, and a reasonable "get off me gun"

I was lucky enough to buy one of those "great .380" molds from Ranch Dog just before he closed the store. Its the TL358-100-RF and has a very nice meplat. I load 2.4 grains of Bullseye or 2.8 grains of WST under it for great plinking rounds out of my TCP738, Walther PP, and Bersa Thunder 380. If you can find one, I recomend it.

I used to load the same charge of Bullseye under the Lee 356-102-1R for the same firearms, and its a fine little boolit, but I don't cast that one much anymore.

I cast these by the 1000's in that aluminum 6-cavity mould and load IMR 700X. Very clean burning.

I have a 120 RF that I designed for a Rossi 357 lever rifle. It turns out to be a great shooter in my 380's (Sig P232 and Kel tec P3AT) over 2.2 grains of HP38. Very accurate. 100 grain and 90 grain bullets shoot well with 3.0-3.2 grains of HP38.
