Probably a dumb question, but has anyone ever adapted an auto case feeder to one of these?

I had a Dillon SD many years ago that I loved, but it was somehow lost in a move??

Was thinking of ordering a new one and thought that if you could adapt a case feeder, like maybe one from a Lee pro 1000, you would effectively have a 650 at half the price.

I only intend to load one pistol caliber with it, so changing calibers is not an issue.

It could be done, it would take some skill. But it is entirely doable,

In fact I have been thinking about doing it for the last hour or so while I was running mine.

I believe there is a member on this forum that has done that. Can't remember who though. I will search for the thread.

The member is jmorris. At the bottom of the first post he made in that thread is a video showing his modified square deal b with a case feeder on it. I remember him saying he only did it because others had said it couldn't be done, so he did it to prove it could be done.

Yeah, it can be done. There are more photos of it here http://s121.photobucket.com/user/jmorrismetal/library/reloading/SDcasefeed?sort=3&start=all&page=1

Certainly not a production ready setup, more like a proof of concept.

Sorta like stuffing 10 pounds into a 5 pound bag.

Nice to prove concepts though.
