I just changed from Lyman Alox to SPG in one of my Lyman 450's. First I ran a batch of boolits with a stick of SPG through the reservoir until that first stick of SPG was all used up and the reservoir was empty. Then removed the H&I die, unbolted the press from the bench and ran boiling hot water into the H&I die hole in the press. While the press was still warm it took just a couple of Q-Tips and a shop towel to wipe out the rest of the Alox. Pretty simple. The key to changing lubes is to not waste the existing lube in the press.

Why SPG? Why Alox? Why not Felix?

Why not SPG ? Today i shot 50 rounds of 357 Magnum lubed with SPG. The S&W 686 cleaned up easier and no leading. I used both Lyman#2 and 20/1 alloy sized to .3575
