I would try 15Gr of 2400 up and down in 0.2 increments and see what happens.

One thing-if your rifle has short (old) firing pin use Large pistol primers. They give me better accuracy with this powder (at least in Gras and M95 Steyr)

IIRC isn't there a warning in the box with these bullets not to use them in a rifle?
If I was to try them 2400 would not be a bad choice but I might try about 10grs of Unique and work up.
Ed Harris' "The Load" is 13grs of Red Dot, which works well.

usmc0331, Welcome! Maybe you've read it in my other posts all over this forum: you want to use IMR 4227? Go 18.0 grs. and then do the 'up-and-down' for best accuracy with your chosen boolit.

I imagine that as reloaders we ignore quite a few warnings :)

Pistol bullets have much thinner jackets and shed it (pieces ) inside barrel when pushed too hard (very easy to go over).

Take it easy with it.Better and safer bet would be to use pistol cast boolit or any PB light for caliber boolit.

I would suggest a heavier blt in at least the 123-130 area.

I have shot these in 30-30 with ok accuracy and explosive performance. If memory serves ,e well it was in the 2000fps range.

I spoke to the guys at Hornady about these... They had strong recommendations to keep them under 1,300 fps or risk leaving a jacket in the barrel....

I decided they would make a fine close range, quiet varmint load.. but not a particularly reliable long range varmint round...

Thanks

I've used the Sierra 125 gr .312 SP in my Russian M91/28 sniper. Very accurate and very deadly on coyotes. I push them at 3085 FPS with H4895 in Norma cases.
