I have a Lyman .30 short M die which I use to flare .30-30 cases. I'd like to back it out and use it for 30-06 cases too. Has anybody done this? Anything to watch out for, like buckling the case necks?

30 cal M die can flair any 30 cal case. Just back the die body out enough so that an 06 case can be inserted all the way. Then slowly start turning the center stud in to the point that it flairs the case. Kevin

IIRC, I've been using the same die for 7.62x39 to 300 Mag. I might have shortened one, as I haven't used it on those 2 particular calibers lately.

But, I have used a full length M2 die and expander for 30-30 recently, and that one will also do 30-06. Just have to adjust it, and that's been mentioned already.
