I came into a quantity of HERCO at a real good price so am trying to find a good use for it. Currently I use BLUE DOT in the loads for the 4006 but it seems that HERCO should work nearly as well. I found one load for the 180 grain TCBB cast bullet I am loading starting at 6 grains. What do you folks think?

There is a decided lack of information for the 40S&W and HERCO so I figured someone here surely would have been there and done that.

Herco and the RCBS 180 gr. flat point is my best load for my CZ75 BSA. 5.8 gives me 950 fps and great accuracy.

roysha:
Herco is a slow Unique. I use it in my .41 magnum for plinkin, in my 45 colt Uberti for my carry load, and my 45 acp for heavy 250 grain loads. Good stuff.
Whatever can be loaded with Unique, can be safely matched with Herco.

should work fine but is on the dirty side for a semi auto

In Pet Loads Ken Waters really liked it in the 40.
