Yup, ol Alox lube and the 'old' Hoppes #9. The two best smells in all my shooting years!!!!!!!

I can't stomach Alox at all. I don't shoot it much because of the odor.

Now a freshly fired shot shell, that is nice

I can't smell alox at all and barely get a whiff of anything from the hoppes.

Alox reminds me of a job I had at a metal forming factory. All the metal was coated in it.

Personally, I'd rather smell fresh baked bread out of the oven.

Yes, I too like the smell of Alox! I associate the smell to boolits ready to be introduced to a brass case which is ready to be introduced to a steel barrel. Now, when that aloxed boolit inside that steel barrel gets introduced to a steel firing pin....now that is magic, which produces another favorite smell. But, ain't it cool how so many of the ingredients we use have good smells? I just can't get the wifey to replace the Chanel #5 with Hoppes #9.

when reloading and when the bottom of the bullets, the only smell that I do not like is when I throw the wax in molten lead, alox is delicious smell for me.

:lovebooli

quando ricarico e quando fondo i proiettili , l'unico odore che non mi piace è quello quando butto la cera nel piombo fuso , alox è buonissimo odore per me .

Me, I just love the smell of burnt powder on a rifle range in the morning. Preferably during a match.

My girlfriend, well, we're getting hitched next year, she wants to have the wedding at a range. We've got a plan for that. Guys, when she's like that, you just know you've got a keeper. Down side is, she likes her guns too. Last acquisition was a Winchester Model 70 Varmint in 243. 65 vintage, when the barrel wears out, going to replace it with a Hart barrel.

You use it as a lube :)

I like the smell of alox, love the smell of Hoppes #9, and nothing but nothing beats the combination of smells of freshly fired .22LR and then being swabbed with Hoppes #9. Brings back powerful memories of my Dad and me on cold winter days cleaning our guns at the kitchen table.

Anyone else smelled Frog Lube? Finally a cleaner and lube that she won't kick me out of the house from the smell.

mmm, I guess you guys haven't brewed your own beer.
Adding the Hops right after 'hotbreak' is the bestest aroma in the world.

I switched exclusivly to Froglube about a year ago and will never look back. Sure, it's a little pricy but it works better than anything i've ever tried as long as it's applied right, and the smell, yes it's very good too.

One of my favorites is a freshly fired .44 magnum case...
