It's a P 14, 303 British.

Wondering if I should keep it or not.

It has a really clean bore.

Anyone shoot cast out of one like this?

I shoot a 314299 in mine. I think you'll be pleased. If you would like some bullets, I'd be happy to sent you a sample.

thanks for the offer, I'll have to pass for now. It may be a while before I get this going in cast as I have NOTHING else for it, no brass, dies, etc...

Are you serious Blammer? I think you are pulling our collective legs asking if you should keep it. Fess up. You're a tease. :-p

That's a fine example. If you feel it a burden I will take it off your hands and swap you the Bubba'd P14 I have with the cut down wood, sewer pipe bore and holes drilled in the action.

A Model 1914 with a good bore, needle in a hay stack. Parked, but that would not bother me and that blonde wood up front should be fairly easy to replace. DP holes were only in stock and rear hand guard. The two in this house using the term frosty is being nice. Prvi is not crazy on price and I have seen it available. Your call. Gtek

Blammer if I were you I'd give Jeff's offer some serious thought

Looks like the twin to the one that I have. Keep it? I've fired mine with j-words out in the Nevada desert and it was a great pleasure.....very modest recoil with milsurp ammo and dead nuts accurate out to anything you could lay the sights on. Should be a natural for lead.

I'll second the guy above's remarks. If you don't want it, let me know. I don't have a P14 in my collection yet.

would you pretty much attack this like you would shooting cast in a 30-06?

I moved the cursor on the title and the little box said p17- 303 and instantly my mouth started to get wet from the beginnings of drooling. I open the page and I read "to keep or not" and this impulsive drive to take it off your hands started to rise up in me. What is it about the blasted 303 brit that is so addictive? I have 2 bolts and one double in 303 and want more! Oh well, as a adult I must get a grip and control myself. I can imagine what your gun will look like after a good cleaning and it brings a smile to me. Hope you enjoy it!

Well, I could say you shouldn't keep it, but send it to me, but I doubt you'd believe that. I've got a 1917 in 30-06 that I need to get working with.

Not much different than loading 30-06, except different data and slightly larger bore diameter. I do hear making brass out of 30-40 Krag is better than 303 brass itself. There's a thread on that.

The P14 is much better than an SMLE to me

I've got a sporterized P14, the stock has been cut back and nicely done. But, someone hack sawed the rear sight off the receiver. I milled it down so that it looks a lot better and D&T it for a scope mount (extremely hard to do, rock hard). The best thing about it, is that it has a un-touched, like new barrel.

I have yet to shoot it at the range but, I have a .314 dia. 311299 mold and the other mold that I will try is the 311413, most of them cast at .313-4.

I will start with my favorite Krag load of 18.5 gr 4759 and see where that leads me.

Your just wasting your time, send the best one to me; and I'll send you a 35 Whelen Ackley Improved that shoots so good it's probably illegal.

Blammer-

I'd keep it. Dies, bullets, or not, I'd keep it. It would make a super refurb project. I have one that I play with once in awhile.

Great project guns. Pretty good cast bullet rifle too. KEEP IT!

I think I'll think about keeping it, I'm selling my other one.
