My son gave me an M4 .223 carbine for my birthday.....one he assembled and test fired himself. After shooting it, I realized that things have come a LONG way since I owned my AR15 back in the early seventies. This gun is accurate and a joy to shoot. Okay, we're back home so let's clean the little darling....
Uh oh. I just remembered that I managed to break my slotted tip for my .22 rod some months back, so I held my breath and ever so gently ran a few patches through from the muzzle using the blunt "pusher" tip. No sweat. Didn't do much for the chamber but at least the bore's clean.
Alrighty then, let's jump on Ebone and see if someone is offering a slotted .22 tip. Yep! Here we go.......and only $6.95! Wait a minute.....seven bucks for an injection molded part that probably cost four cents to make???? It wasn't all THAT long ago that I saw them in various sporting goods stores for about eighty cents! Has the world gone completely nuts or is part of the gun "hoarding culture" that we've seen over the last few Obama years?
Good thing I've got a lathe. Think I'll start making one piece rods.........:)
Cranky old man rant off.
