This question is to anyone that has a set or many sets of Corbin "H" dies . Would you mind sharing the dimentions of them? I am mainly looking for the overall length of the complete die and how long the threaded portion is and what the thread is. I could also realy use the dimentions of the internal and external punches as well. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

H-dies are about 2/3rd's of the way down the page:

http://www.corbins.com/starting.htm

Thread is 1"-12 tpi UNF x approx 1" long with a bit of a tenion so the underrside of the die seats against the ram squarely (in theory).

The body is 1.5" diameter and the length will change with the projectile length. The length of the pointing die works on the theory that the jacket is fully supported inside the die before your base punch starts to force the core seated jacket past the shank into the o-give. This is important for flat-base projectiles and very critical for boat-tail projectiles. Remember the jacket should be still smaller than the final bullet shank at this stage as you are still 'swaging up' to final diameter.

Thanks for the reply re: die body dimention, Now what I still need is the length and diameter of a base ( internal ) punch as well as the dimentions of a top ( external ) punch, just the portion that is inserted into the top punch holder. I have Corbin equipment myself CSP-1 and understand how swaging works but am wanting to make some of the larger dies for a different press!

If you've got any specs on the ejection pin holder for the point forming die I'd appreciate those. :drinks:

The BSS boat tail die punch is worth examining. The adjustment screw set-up is excellent for changing boat tail lengths while keeping the same angle. I'll post a pic when I get a chance.

bottom hole is .500" from bottom of punch and is .250"
Top hole is a setscrew for ejection pin. my ejection pins are +/- 3.5" long, .072" diameter

^^^ i assume the larger hole is for when you get a stuck bullet, must be some type of rod you put in there to act as a handle and pull up?

Ram is slotted, with a spring on ram between base plate and travel plate, rod goes under spring and through ram and punch. when press handle is operated spring forces internal punch to retract in die allowing room for the bullet.

0.078" = 5/64"

0.0625" = 1/16" (4/64")
