Team.

I am presently working on a new foreend for the Cadet I was given. I had a nice piece of walnut stashed away and so far have inletted the barrel and fitted to front of the action aswell as installed the retaining pin. About half way I guess.

I member was good enough to send Cad drawings (on the wall behind) of his foreend and a member of the CBA forum from Australia gifted a nose cap and barrel band. Once the foreend is done I will make a new butt also as the existing one is full of insect holes and a bit tired.

It looks like you have a good start on your Winter project !

I'm doing much the same thing here, this Summer, making a much shorter Alexander Henry type schnobble forend for my Model 12 Takedown .22.

There's nothing amiss with my wood/stocks - but I wanted a smaller forend, other than the issue large/long beavertail/target forend, for hunting.

This is how I bore the hole in the butt, a long drill and using the tailstock to feed it onto the drill. Nice straight hole every time!

About how I do it too but I set the long bit so it will go just a bit over half way through ( makes it stiffer and less apt to wander in fancy or hard wood ) then drill part way through from each end still centering with the live center, swapping ends every couple of inches. Tend to get a more perfectly aligned hole, less chance to wander.

Yes, I did a Youtube search last evening and found a guy doing exactly that. Priceless info.
