heres the thing:
Ive got a hankering for a heavy 308 dia boolit that can pull double duty.
it needs to be heavy and hollow point forr expansion and energy out of the blackout @<1050fps.
Id also like to use it in my garand and ar10 at high velocity for hunting.
My initial thought is a gc NOE whisper design (247 gr solid) hollow pointed down to 210 grains or so.

bullet design is a new one on me so I submit to the wisdom of others who may have a better Idea of how to accomplish this.
I thought also of having an additional VERY DEEP HP pin(s) to make a near ness safety slug type boolit cast hard from the same mold.

I'd like to see if there is any interest in this or if there is a solution that I'm missing.

My 311290 is shooting real well out of a variety of .30 cal. rifles right now.

Here is a group that I fired with my Ruger # 1, .308 Win. :

Today I cast some Lyman 311290, " cup points ". I'm anxious to try them out. Might be just the ticket for white tails here in my area :

In my opinion, these numbers are just about perfect for my particular .30 cal. rifles , 30-06's and 308 Win. rifles :

I size to .3095 " in a Lee push thru ( nose 1st ) sizer , then lube in a separate operation with a .3105 Lyman H & I die in my Lyman 45 Lubri-sizer.

These are the numbers from an " As Cast Bullet ", prior to any sizing or lube.

that 31-260b is one helluva heavy mould. would that stabilize in a garand?(1-10) or sub-sonic in a 1-8 twist blackout?

You may want to buy some of the 31-260b bullets from someone that already has the mold ( 50 or so ).

If they will ( or won't ) shoot well in your weapon, you'll know with 50 of them.

Yes, You are right, I have had several people comment on those.

A side benefit is that they shoot about as good as they look.

HP 311284 runs about 210-212 gr. with an appropriate load of 2400, and shoots well in my 308's.

I hope the NOE 311331s shoot as good as they look.

We will know soon.
