So I scoped my A3 for a quick trip to the range.
Not to worry the mount is an S&K clamp on, Rock Solid by the way ;-)
I love Cast Boolit Shootin', thanks to everyone here for helping learn this great hobby.
Anywho, here she is:

That flyer is the first shot from a clean barrel.

Very nice shooting.

I am going to have to look into one of those scope mounts for my A3. It is already sported but the only thing done to it was put into a fajen stock so it would be easy to convert it back.

Mighty nice. A lace on leather cheekpiece would be a good addition.

That is one nice group.

Of course we all know those old surplus military rifles won't shoot worth a darn!

18.0 grains of Hercules????

The writing goes off the edge of the picture.

Hercules What?

Inquiring or at least NOSEY minds want to know.

Just had to Brag again:
Went to the range today to get sighted in for the match tomorrow.
This group is @ 100 yds. with scope set at 9X
Not a fluke, the next group was one hole with a flyer that took it to .71
Kudos also go to NOE for making such a great Mold, and Ben for leading me to this great boolit :drinks:
So far I am only using LLA for lube and No leading. I tumble, let dry and then I hand fill the grooves with LLA.
I am just starting to try Bens Red after tumbling with LLA, no report yet though.

I had a great Morning [smilie=w:

Real nice! You know, I had a group nearly as small with NOEs 311365 that I'd tumble lubed, well, more dip lubed as I'd thinned the LLA & Marvel Mystery Oil mix. Next time out I used the more traditional lube, Lars C-Red pumped in with the old Lyman sizer, and I didn't get near as good a group. Makes me think perhaps some boolits just don't need all that lube.

Gotta love the 03's and A3's I think. There is a youtube video of a fellow shooting lead boolits out of an A3 at 1000 yards with original iron sights. He had to walk it onto the target but he did hit it.

One just has to LOVE a rifle that performs like that.

I have some Ranch Dogs that are lighter than that to try, but it is the heaviest 30 caliber mold I have.

Unfortunately I have no box stock military 06s any more.

The old duffers I shoot with do military bolt snipers with max 4x scope power at 200, 300 and 600 yards firing essentially the National Match Course, but allowing 70 secs. for extra reload time on the rapid string for reloading with loose rounds.
