Hi team.
Have been shooting the Pygmy with CBE's new 316 175 bullet lately and have changed from W748 to Bench Mark (or BM2 as it is known down here under the ADI banner). I have changed powders as W748 is now ludicrisouly expensive in NZ and BM2 will service my .223 well in addition to the Pygmy and .303 Brit.
Jim's over sized 316 175 is a great bullet that in WW throws at 177gr, .304 on the nose and .3165 on the grooves so fits the .317 groove barrel of the Pygmy just right. As BM2 is a bit quicker in burning rate than the W748 I have had to heat treat the alloy up a shade and now the clip on WW with 2% babbit is 18 BHN and not 10 BHN at air cooled state.
Today I shot 22gr of BM2 and put down this 5 shot group at 50m/55 yards. Velocity is 1700fps. The vertical influence was my breathing I believe. Pretty happy with this out of a military barrel on a Lee Enfield action.

Going to go to 23gr and 24gr next time which will put me at 1800fps + or - which is about as far as I want to go for the sake of case life. I figure an animal hit with a 18 BHN bullet at that velocity range would in trouble.
