Hi Guys first time for me to run into this Brass.
Its a pre-ww2 with the German Nazi mark on it.
I don't know if they are common or not i just wonder what was there use (gun) in the German army during ww2.

I took a picture of the head and another picture with a 9mm next to it.
Thanks,

Looks like 8x56R (http://www.ammo-one.com/8-56RMMAS.html) for the Austrian/Hungarian Mannlicher Carbine.

I have no idea but would love to find out. Maybe a more experienced person than me can help you. But to help the next guy out, do you know what caliber it is. By caliber, I don't mean what cartridge(that would ruin all the fun if you already knew) but what diameter bullet it might use.

Never mind. I took too long typing and dsbock got the first reply in.

Yes that is an 8x56R and that Nazi cartridge with it's 1938 date is commonly found. The M95 straight pull carbines and rifle are the most often associated with that round.

If you have any loaded ones only shoot 3 or 4 at a time in a M95. Your shoulder will thank you. After shooting 2 my son said " I would hate to have to shoot then all day long"

Thanks, Pretty amazing that Nazi ammo from 73 years ago is commonly found here or anywhere.
I know ammo last long time but wonder how many of these have been produced to last the ww2 and 70 years after without nobody fire them.
Thanks for the quick help.
