A fellow forum member and I are hitting the road in a couple weeks. We will be road tripping through much of Ohio hitting gun shows and any gun shops and interesting flea markets, etc. we find along the way. If anyone in Ohio has any favorite hole-in-the-wall gun shops we'd appreciate any information, and as much info as possible would be great to reduce the number of wild goose chases we go on.

In addition to Fin Feather Fur Outfitters (make sure you hit the Ashland location, the Canton location is not nearly as good), make sure to hit Hartville Marketplace flea market.

Norton Sporting Goods
100 Norton Road Waldo, OH 43356
(740) 726-2616

This is an ol' skool Ma and Pa gun shop with wooden floors, vintage Winchesters hanging on the walls, really cool store. I bought a Kahr CW45 from them on a road trip I made from North Carolina to Michigan in May this year. Good prices, and nice as hell people. 1/4mi off Rt 23, hour north of Columbus.

I will have to check out Norton Sporting Goods when we go through in July. We will be taking my step daughter back to her dad's, so we should have some free time on the way back.

I grew up down the road from Norton's. There used to be a public range about 1/2 mile from there in the Delaware SP. Last time I was there, you had to buy an access pass to use it, but you can get it at the gun shop. I don't know if it is still there, as my last visit was about 15 years ago.

Nice break durig a road trip!

The public range is still there back in the day you used to just go shoot in daylight hours no pass or anything. Now they require the pass and have set hours and a range officer. I don't shoot there very often but can tell the regular RO is a real good guy very friendly and helpful. FB

If your in the Dayton/ Vandalia area (I-70 & I-75 interchange) there's a few decent shops within a few miles of each other. One is called Old English Outfitters, just google them for their website and directions, they have a very nice selection of arms, ammo and reloading equipment. Also an indoor archery range.

Another just down the road is Vandalia Tactical, again google them for directions and website, They also have a nice selection but not as large as Old English Outfitters.

And the last that I can think of is Vandalia Range and Armory. They have the nicest indoor shooting range this side of Ohio, they rent guns also if you don't bring yours. They have a very nice selection and the shop is TOP class and very nice looking. Almost too nice looking for a gun shop, you'd think your in a high end jewelry store.

Bill's Gun Shop, small privately owned, in Waterville, OH. Located on 3rd street, one block south of old US 24, next to Shawn's Irish Tavern. Good place to stop and talk, not a large selection of guns for sale. Sell pistol ammo that he loads at the shop. FREE COOKIES and BS!
