452484 Mod

Thinking about getting a double cavity Lyman 452484 modified to be a plain base and to have hollow point cavities about as big as the block pins location will allow.
Have any of you guys had a round nose hollow pointed for the 45ACP? What kind of expansion results did you get?

The 452484 with the gas check base sell for way to much on Ebay. Sell it and buy something more suitable. I use it with gas checks to crank up the velocity on Ruger only 45 Colt loads or use it bare assed for 45 ACP. I did a side by side comparison in a 45 ACP revolver with and without the gas check. The gas check did nothing other than run up the cost and time, did nothing for the shot to shot accuracy.

I use it for a lite bullet in the Rowland but have pretty much settled on heaver designs, that said it worked but no better than anything else.
