Rummaging around dads stock pile of stuff I found some CB for the 357 he had been working on for me. One is a 167gr SWC design and the other a 172gr WIde flat point design with GC. Ill be using virgin Starline nickle plated brass. Powder on hand is LilGun, 296/110, HP38/231 and Power Pistol. I've got regular and magnum SPP.

I'd like some medium powered loads for the SWC and some near max for the GC ones. What combination does everyone suggest?

As far as weapons goes, I have two 686s, a 586, redhawk and blackhawk to launch these out of. My favorite is probably the 4" 686 or 586.

Wanted to spend time loading on Fathers Day.

I also favor a 4" 686. I don't use the powders you have but just because I don't have any. The first two powders you list will probably get you close to top end while the last two should make a mid-range. I like 7 grains Unique in a .357 case with my 165 grain bullet, that load also works with the heavier Keith bullet. That is my mid-range. You can drop Unique lower than that with good results also. Heavy loads are put up with 2400 because that is the powder I have. A lot of my mid-range are put up in .38 special cases, then the powder charge is 5.5 to 6.0 grains of unique. The old 38/44 duplication loads make a nice mid-range load also.

Look through these loads and you might find something that works for you. http://castpics.net/project2/CastDatalist.php?start=361 Good Luck!!
