Hi,
Thought I would show how I keep my handled molds when not in use. This keeps them from getting knocked around and dirty.Take note how they are layed in the box. they are switched end for end, this keeps the molds from laying on each other as they are laying on the handles under them!

Would It be wise to put something in the totes to absorb any moisture. I was thinking of silica beads/packets or something. Just a thought. Looks like a good method of storage though.

Not just dry. I'll suggest adding corrosion inhibitor paper or insert.

I would gladly store them for you. :-)

I store mine in a Mk19 grenade can, with handles attached and desiccant added as well. The can is large enough to easily hold 20 molds with handles attached. Just pop open can and the grab the mold and go. When done let cool off toss back in the can. (no oiling required, they stay nice and rust free in the ammo can ready for the next casting session.

I store my 4 cavity's facing like that except in drawers I built under the bench.
the free molds sit in notched out 2x4's with ends on them so I can stack them up, they hold 4-2 cavity molds or 2-4 cavity molds per board and 5 boards to a level in the drawer.

That's how I store the majority of my Lee molds.

That's how I store my molds as well, but I add a layer of old towel in between. I also use a desiccant in the boxes.

Nice storage. I keep mine in the original box if possible. Mark with a king marker caliber size profile. Then they go in a tub with other casting tools. I try to make it so I don't have to dig for a specific mold.

I'll stick with the plastic peanut jars and oil on all steel parts.

that still makes me nervous. I'd still wrap my molds in a thick waxy paper at least. I'd worry about moisture with something absorbent like a towel.

I haven't had problem with molds rusting when stored that way. Towels and all.

But another trick is that my molds are kept in a conditioned space, not out in a shed or similar. When the only place I had to store molds was a non conditioned space, I had to, as a general rule, needed to keep the molds oiled.
