OK I'm old and I learn slowly.
For over 40 years I've enjoyed my 311407, 311466 and 311467 boolits.
Casting them has always taken patience.
I too tried all the "usual" beatings on the hinge pin and any other area that would not hurt the mold.
Yesterday during my casting session with the 407, I was experiencing the usual "stuck" boolit here and there.
Now for the good part, I had one that just would not release.
I stopped, thought for a moment and bang up popped an idea!
Tapping on the hinge or for that matter anywhere else just did not impress the stuck boolits!
What did however was LIGHTLY tapping the mold handle above the hinge, on the boolit side in the opposite direction I wanted the boolit to drop,
end of stuck boolits for the rest of the casting session.
Apparently all other methods only drive the boolit deeper into the mold.
Give it a try!
P.S. I use large Lee handles on my DC molds, they give you a lot of space between the hinge and mold to tap on.
