I went out this morning to test a couple of loads I have developed for my 1895 "cowboy" in .45-70. Here is a photo of my results.

I apologize for taking so long to respond to your post Mr. waco, but I had to visit with some of your buddy's first. They all agreed that just as long as I was shooting better than you do, I will do OK in the hunting world with that RL-7 load that shot the one inch group in above photo. :drinks:

The load that produced the 1" three shot group will be the load I use for awhile. I use Starline brass, Federal "Match" primers, and 430 grain hard cast WFN bullets that are gas checked. My bullets are cast by Doc Holliday who is a regular on Marlin owners board. My .45-70 is a Marlin 1895 "cowboy", and I have mounted a 4 power Redfield "Golden Five Star" scope on it.
