I've had mine for some time, but I just can't remember. Does the readout always flash, or is my battery dying? On top of that, they don't appear to be measuring correctly.
I did not drop it.
I don't have a fresh battery to test with.

Yes on most digitals flashing or turning off is the signal battery is getting weak. Most are 357 watch batterys. There is a procedure to "Zero" the calipers, not sure what for those. They should at least be checked for zero every use. I check mine with a gage block close to actual measurement being made if its critical. I have Mitoyo calipers and Mikes both. Batteries seem to last a couple years in them.

I have several of the calipers and do not use them every day so when I get done for the day, just remove the battery. Have to calibrate them anyway before use.

The flashing means low battery, and it takes one 357 watch battery. To zero it close the calipers all the way and hit the yellow button.

Problem solved, there are many other calipers but I have had lots of good use from my frankfort arsenal calipers.

357 or 44 or AG13 battery are the best to use. In a pinch, a 43 or AG12 will work. They are just a little thinner.

Harbor Freight sells multi-packs of button batteries for cheap. The pack will have 8 that you can use (4 #44 & 4 #43) & 16 that don't fit your calipers. That multi-pack cost about the same as a single #44 from Radio Shack.

Some dollar trees have watch batteries. You get either 4 or 8 in a pack for a buck.

I stopped at a $ tree store and grabbed a pack of 3.

The sign said save $1.99 so I thought it was a deal.

Wrong

The actual price at the register was $9.99 and you saved $1.99 off of THEIR original price.

Not all stores are there to help you.
