I am looking for a replacement thermostat for an old Saeco lead pot. Thanks Fred

It's been decades since those were made. You might consider rigging up an external box with a 1000 watt dimmer and monitor with a thermometer. Or go the PID route. Waage does sell thermostats as parts, but they are spendy ($120 and up).

Someone here sent this to find a stat to repair my SAECO. Haven't gotten mine yet but it is a very good price. Send some photos after the repairs.

Vinne: is there any feedback by folks using this 'stat about what the max pot temp is? The unit is rated 550 deg F and 1500 watts. Being clamped onto the pot and the 550 upper limit, I wonder if you can get to 725 deg F.

Calamity Jake: That article is about replacing the heater element. That guy ended up ditching the 'stat and running full up power.

Mike see this thread http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?55431-Here-s-the-thermostat-on-my-Lyman-61-melter&p=586405&viewfull=1#post586405 in it they say its the same one that was on the old pot and it works fine. You have to read the whole thread to see the it though.

Dave is right...that guy moved the stop to allow for a higher pot. Read all the ones on page two for more info.
