Finally finished getting all the equipment I needed to start casting a few months ago, and order my first custom mold from Mihec (359-125 HP). Ordered with round HP pins and with blank, as I didn't want the pins to stick out the bottom of the mold and hit my mold guide on my RCBS Pro-melt. Well I ended up receive both styles of the HP pins, and Miha informed me that they were reversible--so now I have Penta pins sticking out of the bottom of my mold. Knowing that with my arthritis I couldn't hold the heavy brass 4 cavity mold up for filling for a long time, I figured I had to figure out some work around to still use the mold guide. Well the rings the RCBS includes are not big enough in diameter to allow the mold to slide on the top--pins still contact the bar. So I went to the hardware store, and bought a spacer and four fender-washers. The Mihec mold now rides on top of the washers and allows enough clearance, however, the washers do leave fine scratches on the bottom of the mold. Also it doesn't really center the mold under the spout, so I'll probably be scratching my head some more to figure out a better solution. Don't know if they make heat resistant rubber, silicone, or urethane washers that would be easier on the brass mold. If I could find a shoulder washers as well, then could adjust the spacing & use the shoulder to center the mold.

Teflon and put a much larger one on either side of what you have, to guide the mold.
