I purchased a very nice NOE , 5 cav., 311331 mold from Wayne S.
The mold arrived today and after a good cleaning to get all the tape adhesive off the mold ( UURRGG ! - about a 20 minute job), I was ready to cast some bullets.
The bullets appear to be "cousins " to my single cav., Lyman 311290's ( which has always been a super accurate bullet in just about every .30 cal. rifle that I've ever fired it out of ). The visible exception being that the nose of the 331' is quite a bit longer than the nose on the Lyman 311290.
My NOE 311331's today have a nose dia. near the end of the nose of .301 ", and a nose dia. near the 1st drive band of .302". I've always enjoyed shooting " nose - riders".
The drive bands mike .311" ( all these measurements are with ACWW's ) .
I checked NOE's Web site , the 311331 isn't currently shown on Al's Web site. I wonder if this was a group buy mold ?
I'm anxious to try these.
