Hey fellas:
Does anyone know the diameter of the Lyman 685-069, 730 grain musket bullet cavity? Or, the size of the mini-bullet that it casts?
Regards
Jack

Thank you sir. I am planning on shooting the slug in my 870 shotgun. Loaded in a WAA12 wad (as a sabot) the OD of the wad will be a tad big, but I can make a sizer die to shrink the bullet down a little.
Thank you again for your reply.
Regards
Jack

No problem- had a bunch sitting here handy. Since Lyman uses #685... code for the mold, I too was wandering the true dimensions before getting this mold. So I'm not at all sure the next mold wouldn't be something closer to .685- .688" ??

Lodgewood sells a push thru sizer for sizes up to .690" for minies. They recommend a wooden dowel but I use an old cheap deep-well socket just under .570" to drive these through. I use one of their dies to re-size minies for a better fit in one of my .577 Enfields.
