Hello to all! First time posting but long time lurker. I will start with a short intro...
23 years old, been shooting 1911s since I was 8-9, raised in the HVAC business and now my current profession, loading and casting for the past year and a half. Got some good .45 acp and .357 loads worked up. All my casting info and knowledge has come from here or the lasc website. Thanks!
Now to the meat of the post. I've got quite a few 1911s and I'm very strongly considering converting one to .460 rowland just for fun and, lets face it, everyone loves more power haha. But, as the bullet has to be seated deeper I'm wondering what mold would be appropriate for this.
I've been casting with a lyman 4 cavity 225gr hardball mold, but I'm really considering a flat point type bullet, even if its only 200gr. Seems the flat point would be better on game while still feeding reliably. The lee 452-200-rf caught my eye.
Any advice is appreciated greatly!
Caleb
