I have two sets of RCBS reloading dies in 38 special. One is PN 18306 and the other is 18310. My question is are both of these taper crimp or roll crimp. They do say carbo on the fl die.

I had purchased these used a few years back in anticipation of purchasing a 38 or 357 for the wife and haven't used them yet.

Hi
Well, I don't know about the "Expert" status, but I have dies like that and they should be "roll" crimp. Remember the rule of thumb. Roll crimp, for revolver cartridges and taper crimp for autos,99% of the time!

You might go to the RCBS website, or any of the online supply houses, and look up the part numbers. My .38/.357 dies are CH, and they do have a taper crimp die, clearly marked as such.
